CITY CYCLING 2024 starts!

City cycling for a good climate in Lüchow-Dannenberg

Climate Alliance city cycling campaign enters the next round. In the period from 12 August to 1 September 2024, everyone in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district is called upon to cycle as many distances as possible in a climate-friendly way and collect kilometres for their team, their community and for more cycling promotion. "Make your bike your daily companion as often as you can," says District Administrator Dagmar Schulz.

Improve the cycling infrastructure on your doorstep with the CITY CYCLING app
With the free CITY CYCLING app, the routes are recorded via GPS and credited directly to your team and your municipality. Another advantage is that the cycling data collected in this way is scientifically analysed by the Climate Alliance, completely anonymously, and provides the district with information on important traffic planning issues. Where are how many cyclists travelling and when, where does the flow of traffic come to a standstill?
This means that the cycle infrastructure can be planned accordingly.

And danger spots or obstacles to cycling can be reported via the "RADar!" platform, which is integrated into the CITY CYCLING app. The function is also available outside of the campaign period and the reporting platform is also available online at www.radar-online.net reachable.

This tool gives cyclists the opportunity to draw attention to annoying and dangerous spots on cycle paths. They simply place a pin on the digital road map and describe the danger spot.

Last year, more than 1,400 people in Lüchow-Dannenberg took part in city cycling and covered 182,868 kilometres on their bikes.

Registrations for City Cycling 2024 are possible at www.stadtradeln.de/landkreis-luechow-dannenberg. Registration is possible in the open team "Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg" or you can form your own team with friends, colleagues, your sports club or family.

The municipal mobility management team and the district's cycling coordinator Tilmann Seifert are available to answer any questions about city cycling.
